And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
I am sure that most of those that read this daily blog are saved. Sometimes I write in hope that just one lost soul might read this today. Maybe they are searching for the truth. The one searching might be looking for something that is missing in them. Perhaps that individual heard a message concerning death and now realizes that without Christ they shall die in condemnation of their sins.
Sometimes when I witness to others they point out that I am a sinner and I too will die a sinner. That is true with one exception. My hope is in Jesus Christ. I believe in Him, His Word and His promise concerning His death, burial and resurrection. Only Jesus has left behind an empty tomb to prove that He has power to lay down His life and take it up again. Even more, His promise to us that if we believe in Him we shall have eternal life.
I know Satan wants us all to be blind to the truth. The most popular verse today is Matthew 7:1, Judge not, lest ye be judged. However, those that hide behind these words don’t realize that judgment awaits them, as does for us all. Either we will die in our sins, or we will die in Christ. (Gal. 2:20) For those who are saved, then Christ stands for us because we are immersed in His blood. Those without Christ are not protected and face a death apart from Christ. Those in Christ will enter into the Lord’s rest. Those without Christ will depart into hell. (Read Luke 16:20-31)
What is interesting is we are judged everyday. All people are. You apply for a job and people are judged worthy or unworthy. You apply for membership in a prestigious club. Once again, you are judged. You go to an exclusive nightclub and judged worthy or not. Yet, when someone comes to tell you ad says that you are a sinner your immediate push back is: Judge not…. This may surprise you, but this isn’t judgment. This is truth. You drive without a seatbelt on and get pulled over. The police officer will see you are not wearing your seatbelt and you will be fined. Cry out, “You are judging me.” He will say, “No, you broke the law.” Sign up for any education and the teacher assigns homework. You didn’t do it and you get a failing grade. The teacher responds, “You didn’t do what I demand and for that reason you failed.” No judgment here, just truth.
I could give you more, but the truth is, with death comes the judgment. I am redeemed not of my actions but of Christ’s. If you would would escape the judgment to come, seek out Jesus, believe on Him and receive His grace.
Think about it.
