The Coming Time

June 16, 2022 By C. Michael Prater Leave a Comment

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. Revelation 6:6

Last night I was awakened by a thought of coming times. I was thinking of end times and what people will face. Of course, I used the scripture of Revelation speaking of rationing. I know some in the Christian community argue over the rapture. Is there going to be one or not? Let me say first off that I believe in the rapture and I pray for the coming of the Lord. However, when the Lord returns to take His people from this earth, the world will face chaos like it has never experienced before. Just reading Revelation 6 reminds me that immediate taking of saints will be enough to bring fear on all people. Suddenly, people will cry for someone to lead them. The leaders of the world will select the devil in human form to lead a world gone mad. At first, all will seem right, but then comes the wrath of God.

What awoke me was something as simple as food. That is why I selected the verse that I did. In Biblical times a penny meant a day’s wage. Wheat by measure cost a day’s wage. Because Barley was more abundant, three measures could be had for the same price. The thought came to me, “How will people react when they have no other choice?” Case in point: Gas prices are causing us to face hardships like never before. Instead of looking to God and repenting for our evil doings, we demand politicians who are aiding this crisis to fix the escalating cost of fuel. People reject God and listen to the foolish mind of men.

As I laid upon my bed, I thought how much food would it take to live the seven years of tribulation? We can buy MREs and put them back for such a time, but is that the answer? Hardly… When we read the book of Revelation we see evil rise in destruction as Satan tries to stop God’s plan. As an example, abortion will expand because people will not give up their pleasure for one moment. The devil will seek to destroy nations in order to have food for others. Water will become an issue. Pestilences will come, and so much more. But, just as it was in the days of Noah, people will refuse to look to God and repent. They will look to the Antichrist and complain expecting him to help them. In truth he will destroy them.

Dear believer, we are the Noahs of our day. People need to hear that Jesus is coming and after His return comes judgment. Now is the time to preach Christ, His crucifixion, His burial and His resurrection. It is high time we tell others that only believing in Him as our Lord and Savior can we escape the wrath to come. I heard a message on the radio yesterday in which Jesus  was presented in the type of Noah’s Ark. I thought about Noah preaching, “Come into the ark. There is plenty of room.” When the time came only Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives entered. God closed the door and seven days later all life on the earth died. Why? The world refuses to believe. Still we preach because we have the message of hope.

I say to you now, “Repent. Come into Christ’s safety by believing on Him.” What to know more? Reach out to me and I will be more than happy to tell you of my God.
